On Tuesday, Lenovo introduced the ThinkPad X1 Fold, the company’s first premium laptop with a foldable display. The folding design of the ThinkPad X1 Fold is enabled by a multilink torque hinge. Lenovo has also included a Bluetooth Mini Fold Keyboard that fits within the fold and charges wirelessly when placed on top of the display. When opened, the ThinkPad X1 Fold may be used as a tablet. The tablet can also be stored on a table thanks to its built-in kickstand, which is designed to keep the screen upright.

The Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Fold starts at Rs. 3,29,000 and goes up from there. The laptop is presently available for purchase on the Lenovo India website, with an initial price of Rs. 2,48,508 stated. When Gadgets 360 contacted the firm, they were told that the difference between the stated and official prices was due to limited-time discounts that would terminate at the end of the month. Customers can also choose a no-interest EMI plan for up to six months at no cost.

The Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Fold was released in the United States in January of last year, with a price tag of $2,499 at the time.

The LG Display 13.3-inch 2K (2,048×1,536 pixels) pOLED display on the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Fold laptop can be folded to accommodate different use cases. The folding form factor is enabled via a mechanical hinge between the display and the frame. Users may use the ThinkPad X1 Fold as a conventional laptop in landscape mode or as a notepad in portrait mode, taking notes or drawing drawings using Lenovo’s Active Pen. Lenovo has also included its Easel Stand, which allows for simple portrait or landscape positioning on a desk, as well as the Bluetooth Mini Fold Keyboard, which allows the ThinkPad X1 Fold to function like a regular laptop.

Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Fold runs Windows 10 Pro and comes bundled with the Lenovo Mode Switcher software, which lets the computer to alter its orientation as needed. Users may divide the screen in half or utilise it in full screen mode. Furthermore, when the Bluetooth keyboard is not in use, the laptop automatically switches to the on-screen keyboard.

Unlike folding phones, which are delicate and easily broken, the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Fold is advertised as a robust and sturdy gadget. The MIL-STD 810H certification is stated to have been passed. Lenovo also claims that the ThinkPad X1 Fold underwent further testing to ensure that the screen could withstand the pressures of being opened and closed thousands of times.

The Intel Core i5 CPU, 11th-generation Intel UHD graphics, 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM, and up to 1TB of PCIe-NVMe M.2 2242 SSD power the ThinkPad X1 Fold. Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth v5.1, and two USB Type-C 3.2 Gen 2 ports are among the connectivity choices (one of which can be used as a DisplayPort). Optional 5G/ 4G LTE support is also available.

For a better multimedia experience, Lenovo has included four microphones and a Dolby Atmos speaker system. The ThinkPad X1 Fold also comes with a Hybrid infrared (IR) and HD webcam that supports both Windows Hello facial recognition and video chat.
