To further drive the ‘2G-mukt Bharat’ campaign, Jio has introduced a deal that prioritises availability, making the JioPhone and its services available to the 300 million feature phone users who still rely on 2G services.
The deals mentioned below will be available from March 1st at all Reliance Retail and Jio retailers.
The JioPhone 2021 bid is split into two proposals for potential customers. For Rs 1,999, a new JioPhone comes with unrestricted voice calls, unlimited bandwidth (2 GB High-Speed Data per month), and no need to recharge for the next two years. For Rs 1,499, you get all of the above perks, but instead of two years, you only get one.
Customers on other networks spend 2.5 times more for the same value, according to Jio. According to the firm, a customer on other networks currently pays Rs 5,000 for a feature phone and two years of operation, while Jio charges only Rs 2000.
For two years of voice service, one must pay at least Rs 149, divided into 24 recharges, for a total of Rs 3600. A feature phone would set you back at least Rs 1200 – Rs 1500, bringing the total to Rs 5000.
Current JioPhone users can also get a 12-month subscription to unrestricted service for only Rs 749. The user receives unrestricted phone calls, unlimited bandwidth (2 GB High Speed Data every month), and no need to recharge for the next year with this package.
