Apple announced on Tuesday that it would host a special event on April 20th, with many anticipating new iPad Pro models and other devices ahead of its annual developers’ conference in June.
“Spring Loaded,” read Apple’s cryptic invitation to the press. The event will be live-streamed from the company’s Cupertino, California, campus on the company’s website, according to the company.
Apple’s virtual assistant Siri, which is known for leading interested Apple fans to the company’s website when they ask it about new items or future activities, has previously announced the iPhone maker’s plans to host an event next Tuesday.
Siri replied to a question from Reuters reporters about Apple’s next event on iPhone models by showing a message that said, “The special event will take place at Apple Park in Cupertino, California on Tuesday, April 20th. Apple.com has all the information you need.”
Apple typically introduces new hardware in March, followed by the release of the most recent update of its iOS app at its annual developers’ conference later in the summer.
While technology news websites have reported that the company will unveil new iPad Pro models and the long-awaited application tracker, dubbed AirTags, at the upcoming event, the company has yet to host any product-launch events this year.
Apple, which is known for big releases attended by hundreds of journalists at its sprawling headquarters, has been using simulated activities since last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
