The OnePlus 9 Pro will support blazing quick 50W wireless charging, while the OnePlus 9 will only support 15W wireless charging.
The OnePlus 9 Pro will go on sale on March 23 and will include wireless charging, which is now expected to be super-fast.
The OnePlus 9 Pro supports 50W wireless charging, according to the Verge, who was able to test the feature ahead of the launch. The phone would charge wirelessly (with the new Warp Charge 50 charger) from 0% to 100% in 43 minutes, according to OnePlus, and Verge’s testing confirmed this to the minute.
Not only do the 9 and 9 Pro support wireless charging, but they also support 65W wired charging, which brings the battery from empty to full in 29 minutes. The publication also confirms that the OnePlus 9’s base model does not have those fast wireless speeds, but it can be charged at up to 15W with the new charger.
Furthermore, both the 9 and 9 Pro support 15W standard Qi wireless charging. ‘The 9 Pro’s twin-cell battery design, as well as some other design tweaks to help with heat dissipation, including thicker copper foil and a larger heatsink, help reduce the heat generated by wireless charging,’ according to Verge’s study.
A new 50W wireless charger is available that can charge the 9 Pro at this high rate. It will be released alongside the OnePlus 9 series, allowing you to position your phone vertically or horizontally on it. Because of the higher wattage it produces, the charger has a fan.
The fan is noisy, but it has a ‘night mode,’ which allows you to sleep next to it if you place it on your nightstand.
OnePlus has also stated that the Snapdragon 888 processor will power the OnePlus 9 series, which was already planned. OnePlus and Qualcomm both tweeted that the 888 SoC would be included in the 9 sequence.
The OnePlus 9 series has an LTPO display with an adaptive refresh rate of 120Hz that can go as low as 1Hz when the display is static, according to the company’s CEO. Lau also mentioned the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro’s hyper touch feature on Twitter. The 120Hz on the OnePlus 9 series, according to Lau, will be more sensitive than 120Hz on other smartphones.
Pete also revealed that the 9 series would have a 300 percent larger vapour chamber, 33 percent more graphite, and a mix of heat-dissipating materials to prevent the phone from overheating while gaming or performing other heavy tasks.
